Wedding Photographer Swansea |

Andrew L Price Photography

I've shot weddings in barns and grand hotels, in registry offices and on clifftops, in all weathers and all seasons. And every time I drive back into Swansea after a wedding day, I think the same thing: this is one of the best places in the country to get married.

The combination of city and coast — with the Gower Peninsula practically on the doorstep — means Swansea couples have an extraordinary range of settings to choose from. And as a wedding photographer born and based here, I get to work across all of them.

I'm Andrew, and I photograph weddings across Swansea and South Wales.

Why Swansea is an Underrated Wedding Destination

Ask most people to picture a UK wedding destination and they'll think of the Cotswolds, or the Lake District, or somewhere in Scotland. They won't think of Swansea. And that's a mistake.

Swansea Bay — on a clear evening, with the sun going down over the Gower horizon — is genuinely stunning. The city has Mumbles, with its pier and coastal light. It has Dylan Thomas connections, beautiful Victorian parks, and architecture with real character. And all of it is within 20 minutes of some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the UK.

As a wedding photographer working in Swansea, I've never once struggled for a beautiful backdrop.

Wedding Venues in Swansea I Cover

Swansea has a strong spread of wedding venues, from city-centre hotels to coastal settings to the grand estates just beyond the city boundary.

The city itself offers venues with real character — original features, high ceilings, elegant light. For couples who want something central and well-staffed, the larger Swansea hotels give you the polish of a city wedding with the backdrop of the bay.

For those who want to stay close to Swansea but want something more rural, the venues just beyond the city — out toward the Gower and into the Vale of Neath — offer a completely different feel: wood, stone, open countryside, and the quieter pace that comes with it.

And for those willing to drive 20 minutes in either direction, the Gower Peninsula and the Carmarthenshire countryside both open up — some of the most beautiful wedding settings in Wales, with Swansea as your base.

Documentary Wedding Photography in Swansea

My approach to wedding photography is documentary — meaning I work honestly, with little staging or directing the moments I capture. I arrive, I become part of the day, and I photograph what I find.

What that means in practice: you won't spend your wedding morning being posed and repositioned. You won't find me interrupting conversations to line people up. The day unfolds the way it's going to unfold, and my job is to make sure that when something real happens — a laugh, a look, a quiet hand-hold when nobody's watching — I'm in the right place to catch it.

It's a more relaxed experience than you might expect. And the photographs tend to feel more like your day actually felt, rather than a performance of it.

Covering Swansea and the Whole of South Wales

I'm based in Swansea and cover weddings across the whole of South Wales — including the Gower Peninsula, Cardiff, Neath, the Vale of Neath, Carmarthenshire, and the Brecon Beacons. I'm also happy to travel further afield for the right couple.

If you're planning a wedding in Swansea or anywhere in South Wales, I'd love to hear from you.
